As we head into the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs only eight teams remain in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy.

Of the remaining teams left only two stand as real threats to win the whole thing, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. Both Teams represent the AFC so its not possible for them to meet in the Super Bowl, but they can meet next week in AFC title game if both teams win their match ups this weekend. If this scenario plays out we will have a battle of first round qbs. Last years MVP and and 2017’s 10th overall pick Patrick Mahomes would have to go into Baltimore and take on projected MVP and 2018’s 32nd overall pick Lamar Jackson. These two could be the next star qbs of the decade.

Mahomes has been a star since he started his first game in the NFL. In his first full year starting he took the league by storm throwing for over 5,000 yards, 50 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions. This year hasnt been as productive of a season with only 26 touchdowns and 5 interceptions after missing a few games with a dislocated knee cap.

Lamar on the other hand came into the league as project and after the Ravens decided to bench Joe Flacco it was time for Lamar to get his shot. He impressed the league in the regular season where he lead a run dominant offense. This season he has flipped a switch, Breaking Michael Vicks single season rushing record for a qb while also leading the NFL in passing touchdowns from the pocket. He has proven he is a force in the NFL.
Match up wise Baltimore gets the nod. They have a more complete team on offense and defense, but you never know what can happen in the playoffs. That’s why they play the game, Nothing is guaranteed. What a treat this would be to watch…
